When did you start at Kal Active: I think It was around September last year. 
 

Favourite WOD: I don’t really have any favourites, but anything that’s partner based Is always good. I find there Is more rest breaks In those WODs.
 

Least Favourite WOD: That would have to be Barbara.. I was still sore a week later with that one. 

Tell us about your sports & fitness background: Not much too be honest, A few seasons of different sports over the years. A little bit of dirtbike riding and that’s about all.
 

How did you first get exposed to Functional Fitness? I’ve known Kaye for a while and her son, Chaise, thought we should come down for a bit of a look and before you know it we were In our first class.

 

Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel? I don’t remember my first WOD, but I do remember my first PT session with Kaye. It didn’t seem like a great amount at the time with just a few basic movements. However It used muscles that I didn’t know I had and the next few days were rather crappy.
 

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting? I’ve always been a smaller build and now there is definitely a lot more muscle definition, I’m a lot stronger than I was when I started. My recovery after a workout has been getting better and better. It still hurts just not as much..
 

Please share with us any favourite Functional Fitness moments with Kal Active? All those smaller achievements that let you know how far you’ve progressed. I couldn’t even comprehend a double under when I started. Being able to do muscle ups was also a big success. 
 

 Any advice for people just getting started? Don’t be intimidated, It seems rather daunting seeing a class covered In sweat and completely knackered and you think “I’ll never be able to do that”. It does get easier, just make sure you stretch before and afterwards.

 What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside the gym? Being able to drive home after a class Is a pretty good talent. I enjoy travelling, tattoos, music and hanging out with friends
