I just wanted to let you know how amazing your business and staff are. You have created something that is life changing for people physically, mentally and emotionally.
We did 19.3 last night with all the great support, coaching, advice and atmosphere that is the norm for your box. 2 months ago, in preparation for a WOD, Erin had to tell Regan to put away an 8kg dumbbell, as it was too heavy for him to snatch. Last night he RX’d 15kg above his head for 19.3. What an improvement, and it all comes down to your coaching and support. He could not wipe the smile off his face for an hour afterwards, until he fell asleep from exhaustion! Only a few weeks ago I still could not even do a handstand. Last night I did 4 strict HSPU. Thanks to Danny and Erin. My new years resolution was to do 1 by December. I watched Regan sitting around laughing, chatting and cheering with everyone. He has always been quite shy and reserved, especially around adults and new faces. The change in his self confidence is fantastic.
It certainly has changed my pre-conceived notions of what a gym is like, and the personalities of the people that attend.

What's CrossFit good for? I've just finished 3 days of surfing lessons on the South Coast, I did the same lessons, same beach two years ago, which hammered me with only a couple of months of CrossFit behind me. The last 3 months since we locked this holiday in every burpee has been a little more explosive, the top of every pushup higher than the one before in readiness. Yesterday's ocean was BIG, a winter sized swell according to Mike the teacher surf guru, we rode the rip out the back to off the point over the reef where the experts play. My fellow students, half my age expressed amazement at how I was continually chasing waves and left them behind in the endurance stakes, they flogged me in the standing up ability. Recently I went down to Perth to take part in the Primal Throwdown, I was pretty nervous going in as it was my first individual competition and I wasn't sure where I stacked up amongst my peers in the Masters division (40+). The masters were grouped with the RX athletes and we competed in the afternoon of each of the two days, so I had plenty of time to watch the beginners and intermediate athletes in the mornings.
I have watched other athletes at our box who compete in various competitions and observed that they don't particularly follow the regular programming like I do, so I was a bit apprehensive about wether they knew something that I didn't. I needn't have worried, as once I got onto the floor when we started, things just seemed to flow, there were no nerves and I was able to do what I had to do.
The workouts we did in the competition over the two days were comprised of all the movements we do at CrossFit Kalgoorlie on a regular basis and none of the movements or combination of movements in any of the WOD's were anything that I haven't done over the last couple of years. I found myself in 4th place at the end of the first day, and if it wasn't for the fact that I had momentary slip up in the "death by kettlebell" workout (I let go of it) then I would have stayed in the top five and qualified for the final.
I have always had faith in the programming at our box and I can honestly say that at 48yo I've never been stronger and my overall fitness is the best it's ever been. To see that I could compete with other 40+ yo athletes by just doing the daily WOD's has me convinced that if you trust the programming, be patient and consistent then you will get great results. It helps that you have some pretty awesome people to train and hang out with on a regular basis too !!! Matt October 2017

I thoroughly enjoyed the Foundations and am sincerely sad that it has come to an end. Not only did we have a great Team but a great Trainer. I would definately recommend this for the beginner, as I believe it equips you with the confidence and knowledge some might want or need before entering into the CrossFit sessions. Katie... My first day I was absolutely useless but with the encouragement I was able to carry on. It gave me a sense of achievement and drive me to finish what I had started. 8 weeks down the track I am able to do a lot more, I'm stronger, fitter and faster. I have no pain in my hips or leg (even though the Dr said this could last for over 6 months), my energy levels are so much better and most of all I'm happy with myself again.
