Kaye Brock - Head Trainer - Affiliate Owner

A long term Kalgoorlian Kaye has been involved in the fitness Industry for the past 18 years and has completed a Diploma in Fitness. She has  been involved with Railways Football Club as senior strapper and has completed training in Kinesio Taping, Level 1 Sport Training, Pre & post Natal care and exercise trained with Firm Foundations.

My first wod was back at Forrest St in 2012. I believe it was 5 rounds for time.  5 bench step ups, 5 push ups, 5 sit ups, 5 burpees, 5 squats. And by the 2nd round I was looking for excuses.

March 2014 I completed my level one coaches course to give the growing box a hand and I've been loving it ever since. These days I only coach every now and then but see the progress and passion even more. I see new and old members setting themselves targets and then next time I coach they are achieving them. Even to the point of helping others or myself achieve what they trained for.

My sporting background is in football and basketball. I have never been apart of a sport where your rival is changing you, encouraging you and even giving you advice in the heat of a WOD until I joined CrossFit and this is by far the number one reason why I love this box and community.

I hope I help our members when I coach as much as each one has helped me.

Stacey
I started training at Kal Active back in 2013 after much persuasion from friends and I haven't looked back! We then transitioned from Kal Active to CrossFit Kalgoorlie which was very exciting for all the Members. It took me a lot of convincing to get down there and try a workout too but all I wish now was that I had started earlier! 

I completed my level one CrossFit course in June 2016 for my own education and to be able to help get people involved in a gym that I value and enjoy so much. I have been coaching casually since.  In 2016 I also completed the level 1 Australian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) Sport Coach course. I completed the CrossFit Kids course in 2017. In June 2018 I completed the Level 1 Australian Strength and Conditioning (ASCA) course. I'm currently studying online doing a course in Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism to gain even more knowledge and skills to be able to help make a difference to a wider variety of people who are involved in CrossFit and Strength & Conditioning. Each course I do, I do it for self education so I can become better and try to educate people in the sport that I love. 

 

I absolutely love CrossFit for the variety of workouts, skills and knowledge we gain from it and the amazing community it has created. I'm very passionate about helping people begin their fitness journey and continuously challenging themselves and improving each day.

Danny
Danny started his CrossFit career in August 2015 with a CrossFit Foundations course in Forrest Street. He did the CrossFit online judges course for the 2016 Open and was hooked on the sport of CrossFit.

He completed his CrossFit level 1 in Sydney March 2017 and has been coaching ever since.

'Since then I've completed several more CrossFit courses and I'm enjoying the journey of becoming a better coach. I really love the community that our gym has created and I have made some really close friends that I consider to be extended family.'

I have been here in Kalgoorlie for 10 years, 7 of those i have spent in mining. I have been coaching for a year now, I started coaching because it is so rewarding to help others improve their health and wellness. The improvements that you see from people within the first couple of months of starting with us is just amazing, I get so excited to this day, that is why I coach. We have an awesome team here at Crossfit Kalgoorlie who have become family to me. Sometimes it turns into more of a social event then a workout, but its all about balance right? I love seeing others get behind their classmates and encourage them to finish strong, no one is left behind!

its not about finishing first its about building on your technique and doing the movement correctly that will have you go far.
